Set sacred space in your kitchen to make the crafting of this cacao blend a spiritual experience. Consider setting the room with beautiful candles, roses, incense, and instrumental music playing softly in the background.
This drops us into a place of sacredness and dedicates this moment to ritual. It awakens the spirit, the essence of your higher self, and opens the heart to healing and expanding with the chocolaty medicine.
Preparing the cacao blend should be just as ritualistic as when you drink in Aphrodite’s powers and the magick of this sacred plant medicine. Take time to set sacred space to invite pleasure and purpose into every step.
As you are using your knife to shave the cacao, feel the spirit of the plant working with you in deeply profound sacredness. Let the plant medicine speak to you as you handle each ingredient.
Fully embrace the wisdom of the cacao as you shave it and add it to the pot. Honor each ingredient in the same fashion. Working with the sacredness of the plant is pure magick, feel into the experience and all the sensations it brings as you connect with ancestral wisdom and the highest vibration of light.
Have a cozy place picked out to to relax and drink in this plant medicine while pulling the spirit of Aphrodite into your space. Have a journal ready to receive and note any messages that come through. Enjoy!
General tips for making a fantastic cup of Cacao:
- Use a knife to shave your cacao block into small slivers – I prefer using a serrated steak knife.
- If a food scale is unavailable, measure 1 heaping tablespoons of well ground cacao for each .5 oz. serving
- Boiling water is not necessary or recommended, try water just warm enough to barely keep a finger in it.
- For a smoother concoction, mix in a blender or press through a French Press.
- Adding a sweetener of your choice will not affect the energies of the cacao. Many experienced cacao drinkers use no sweetener at all.
- The hibiscus used in this recipe is easily found in Latin markets. The rose is easy to find in the tea section of most markets.

Invocation for Aphrodite
Aphrodite of golden hair,
With purest love and face so fair,
Goddess of longing, You who inspire,
and fan the flames of hot desire,
Lady of pleasure and lustful nights
–All acts of love are Your rites.
Queen of love and passions wild,
Smile upon Your loving child.
You who were foam-born of sea,
I ask Your blessings here on me.
And when this sacred rite is through,
Take my thanks and love with You.
- Then, take a sip of cacao and drink in her essence. Say: “Aphrodite, goddess of love bring light, love an harmony into my life now. I am ready to receive”
I believe the incantation was written by AutumnRose, but I am not positive. If you know who the original author, please inform me so we can give proper credit to him/her.
